It’s Almost Here!
One more sleep until the conference! I am just at home packing my things and getting one last good night of sleep before we kick things off tomorrow evening. I’m sure many of you are doing the same. Earlier this evening I poked my head in on the delegate bag stuffing/registration envelope collation and was very impressed with our fantastic group of volunteers who had everything well in hand.
Thanks so much to all of you who are making this a reality! All the hours of hard work, energy and imagination are finally coming together!
I expect to be at the conference hotel tomorrow after 3 pm if you have any questions for me. But I well expect our fantastic registration and information desk volunteers to be able to field many of your questions.
The Toronto folk are very much looking forward to welcoming you!
Cheers,
Connie Crosby

Registration Questions?
If you have questions about registration, James Gernert can answer questions for U.S. delegates. Note he has changed his email address to: jgernert@yahoo.com . I can answer questions from Canadian delegates.
Cheers!

Closing Banquet – Join Us!
Tickets are still available for the NE2007 Closing Banquet on Oct. 20 at the Marriott Hotel. You’ll dance the night away with great music, interactive performers, innovative entertainment, giveaways, a buffet dinner and lots of fun.
Even if you can’t make the conference you can still attend the banquet. Check the main website for registration information.

Coming Soon: Survey for Delegates!
Today I drafted a survey for all delegates to help us plan out rooms and seating for the various concurrent sessions during the conference. The other planners are going to work through it to ensure it makes sense, and then I hope to send that out mid-week. Keep your eyes peeled!
If I can co-ordinate it, Canadian delegates should also be receiving your confirmation receipts with it. U.S. delegates have already received receipts; if you haven’t received yours, please contact U.S. registrant James Gernert jgernert@yahoo.com.
Cheers!

Come dancing….
Can’t attend the conference, but in Toronto (and area) on October 20? Why not join us for the closing banquet?
Please come meet colleagues and new friends, enjoy a great meal and dance the night away – all are welcome!
Use the registration form, indicate that you’ll be registering only for the banquet, and make your cheque out to NE2007!
For those of us who are attending the conference, don’t forget that you can register your favourite dance partner as a guest at the opening reception and the closing banquet.

The clock is ticking!
From today, it’s exactly one month until we meet in Toronto. Have you registered yet?
Remember that we cannot accept electronic registrations, so in order to ensure that your information and fees are received in time, you should allow 7-10 days for the post.
See you soon!

Folks are coming from all over everywhere!
The organising committee met this week, and we had a report on registration. Over 100 Canadians from across the country are already signed up, which is very encouraging. U.S-based registrants are 130 to date, with the largest contingent coming from ALLUNY followed very closely by ORALL.
I was very impressed to learn that we have *three* delegates coming from Brazil, and we’re expecting at least one delegate from the United Kingdom. There are rumours of an Australian also making the trek!
One of our Brazilian guests is hoping to get in touch with librarians working in the medical/health sphere as well. If you can suggest some names or groups, please post them to the delegates wiki, or drop a note to Connie Crosby.
Happy long weekend, everyone!

New Look to the Wiki
I was getting bored with our wiki so switched out the design for something a little funkier (it’s called “bamboo”). Let me know what you think! http://librarieswithoutborders.pbwiki.com/
By the way, if you have registered or are planning on registering, please add your name to the wiki so we can see who is coming. I’m excited to see how many people have done so already!
And if you don’t see a page of information that you think should be there, why not start one yourself?
Cheers,
Connie

Early Bird Deadlines approaching quickly!
Please don’t forget the early bird registration fees close after this Friday, August 17th. As well, the hotel rate goes up slightly after Friday as well. Book now to avoid disappointment!
I am quite delighted at the number of registrations that have been coming in! If you have not received your confirmation/receipt back, you will shortly. I haven’t sent any out to the Canadian registrants yet (just so you know). Jim Gernert, who is processing the U.S. registrations, is more on top of the game I believe.
Thank you for all the questions by phone and email. If there is anything I can clear up for you, don’t hesitate to contact me.
One bit of clarification: the opening night reception on Wed. Oct. 17th is included in your full conference registration fee. The closing banquet is not. If you would like to attend the closing banquet, please make note there is an additional fee.

A clarification on registration
In response to some feedback from an interested reader – yes, registration IS only by mail. So, for those of you hoping to cash in on the early-bird, you might want to figure that into your calculations.
